What is the Petawawa Ironman?
The Petawawa IRONMAN is a timed event where individual competitors participate in a grueling 50km event that encompasses the training area, the base proper and the Ottawa River. This event allows these tough competitors to challenge themselves both physically and mentally, while striving to achieve a personal accomplishment to be remembered.
The route covers a total distance of 50 kms including:
4 km portage
8 km canoe paddle
6 km forced march
The route includes:
The Start and Finish Points are located at Dundonald Hall.
The route will be marked/signed every km with a Hydration Point
approximately every 3 km.
In addition, there will be a Hydration Point at the start and finish of the canoe paddle.
