Dundonald Hall Fitness and Sports

Whether new or old to the area, Dundonald Hall is the place for Canadian Forces members, their families, Defence Team, and our CAC members to keep fit and stay active.  Our world class facility coupled with our professional staff provide a wide array of programs, equipment and services to increase your quality of life. 

From our air-conditioned weight and cardio room to swimming or just coming in on a Sunday with your child to shoot a few hoops, there are many options available for the person who wants to be active.  There is a variety of equipment available on a sign-out basis for the CAC members and their guests to use.

   Our Mission: "To enhance the quality of life through education, leadership and commitment by providing superior service to the Canadian Forces Personnel and the commmunity".

 We have a 53,000 square foot field house, which is attached to the rear of Dundonald Hall.  Inside is a 200 meter four lane track that encompasses a large play area that can be divided into three separate gymnasiums.  There is also a state-of-the-art climbing wall available for military training purposes that can be booked through Range Control.  Another indoor climbing wall available to everyone, it is geared towards the Indoor Rock Climbing Club.

Aquatics Centre

Another major part of our facility is the Aquatics Centre.  Children of all ages welcome to experience the awesome water slide at Dundonald Hall that empties into the deep end of the wading pool.  The main pool is 25 meters in length and there are ample timings that make it available to all persons to enjoy.  From parent and tot swim to lane swim, plus many more; you will find that there is a swimming program that is right for you. 

 

 


For everyones safety and enjoyment,  we ask all users to follow the rules and regulations while using the facilities.  Please enter and exit by the main (front) doors of the building.  All other doors are for emergency exit and are connected to an alarm system.  We encourage everyone to take advantage of our great facility and find out why PSP is all about Fitness-Family-Fun!

Members of the regular and reserve force have open access times, but should be prepared to produce a valid ID card.  CAC members also have access to Dundonald Hall at all times, however, military members have precedence.  Public Service and PSP employees have free access from 0900 to 1600 Monday to Friday.  Drop in pass for the day or a single event is $5.00 and can be obtained at Dundonald Hall or the North-side Recreation Complex.

Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a person 16 years of age or older who must remain with them at all times while inside the facility.  No children under the age of 18 are permitted inside the weight and cardio room.  Unless they provide proof of taking the teen weight and cardio seminar.  Parents are not permitted to bring infants into the weight and cardio room.

Access to Dundonald Hall may be suspended for a specified period or revoked permanently for offensive behaviour.  This may include but not be limited to disorderly conduct; disruptive behaviour; persistent disregard for rules and regulations; default in payment of membership fees; and conducting or soliciting of business within the facility (such as personal training or private lessons).

Squash courts can be booked up to 24hrs in  advance by calling 687-5511 ext 7114.  Members are required to supply their own squash balls and are reminded to wear non-marking soled sport shoes and to wear appropriate goggles during play.

The weight room is open whenever the facility is open, however there may be military classes scheduled during the week.  Military personnel interested in a fitness program should contact the Fitness Staff at ext. 7113.

Dundonald Hall will be closed on the following holidays: Christmas Day, New Year?s Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Rememberance Day: 11 November 2008- Dundonald Hall Closed 0600- 1600 hrs, Open 1600- 2100 hrs.

 OPEN 0900-1700 hrs Apply to the following:
Victoria Day, Canada Day, August Civic Holiday, Labour Day, and Thanksgiving Day.
